  4. If you’re familiar with your Newton™ device and any account manager, 
  5. you’ll probably find that you can use Accountable Ltd. without further 
  6. ado.  But there are a few features and some cautions that are not obvious.
  7.  
  8. *****Accountable Ltd. is, guess what,  limited 
  9. This freeware, demonstration version is limited to five accounts.  Each 
  10. of those accounts are limited to twenty transactions.  
  11. If you decide to move up to Accountable, the data you create in Ltd.
  12. can be used in it.
  13.  
  14. *****Install Accountable in the normal way 
  15. Just follow the directions in the User’s Guide for your Newton™ 
  16. Connection Kit.  Accountable needs about 170 KB of space so 
  17. for MessagePad and ExpertPad owners, a storage card is required.
  18.  
  19. *****The overview button always goes to home base 
  20. The list of accounts is Accountable’s home base.  No matter where you 
  21. are in the application, a tap of the overview button returns there.

  23. *****Double-tap an account to see the transaction register
  24.  
  25. *****Drag the elevators for fast scrolling 
  26.  
  27. *****Accountable responds to many words and phrases via Assist 
  28. Accountable only adds the verb ‘Pay’ to the Assist menu, but it will also 
  29. respond to: Charge, Deposit, Withdraw, Fly, and variations.
  30. Try running a phrase like “Charge $30 to Visa at Acme for shirt” through
  31. Assist, substituting your own credit account reference.

  33. ***** Each account can have its own icon  
  34. Tap the default icon while creating an account to see a menu of icons.

  36. *****Accountable’s password security is easy to defeat 
  37. It is only intended to protect against inadvertent access.  A determined 
  38. snoop with the right tool and a little technical knowledge can easily 
  39. get around it.

  41. *****Accountable ignores ‘Store new items on card’ 
  42. Accountable always stores its data in the same soup so that transactions 
  43. aren’t inadvertently lost.

  45. *****Use ‘Remove Soups’ 
  46. If you intend to stop using Accountable and remove it,  run Remove 
  47. Soups in the Routing menu. Besides removing the soups, it also cleans 
  48. up some directories in your Newton™ unit.
